Community and celebration are integral to keeping our movements flowing + our
people in synergy with one another
Through the creation of spaces like M4P we hope to build on further connectedness between community
members advocating for different issues within the environmental justice movement outside of
traditional educational and institutional spaces.
We held the very first Music 4 the People in 2021 — as a fundraiser and gathering that helped our long-term
community partner Flatbush Mixtape build their drip coffee lounge's community fridge. It was proof that a
party could do real movement work and strengthen communtiy infrastructure.
In 2026, after 5 years, M4P returned, larger and louder. It now takes place multiple times
a year, a recurring heartbeat for the movement, rooted in creativity, joy, and celebration.

how does the
earth party?
Music 4 the People (M4P) was born from a simple but deeply held belief — that celebration is movement work.
That joy keeps our people going. That the community built on a dance floor is just as real, and as necessary,
as the community built in a meeting room.
M4P brings together organizers, activists, artists, and community members — creating recurring space where people can experience creative joy and connect with others doing the work of social and environmental justice.
